There are ways to knock hundreds of pounds and save money on holiday bills, including doing your homework on your chosen holiday destination, saving on holiday extras such as travel insurance, airport parking, getting foreign currency etc.
We obviously offer great savings on package holiday deals, have competitive rates on flight only, a massive choice of hotel only, or you can create own holiday using our search facility, so you will always save money if you book with Holidayshed, however times are hard and we can save you even more.
We have listed below ways to save money on holiday.
Save on your spending money.
It may be cheap to get there, but is it expensive when you arrive? Spending money is an important part of the holiday. You can save money by booking an all inclusive hotel which will include all your meals, (breakfast, lunch and evening meals) locally produced alcoholic and soft drinks, tea and coffee, snacks and ice cream.
The other way to save on your spending money is looking at the destinations local currency. At the moment the Euro is high against the Pound. You wont get as much for your pound during your European holidays as you may have last year. We have come up with top destinations that are not Euro currency, where you can enjoy cheap holiday travel and even cheaper spending money.
Turkey A firm favourite for UK travellers. Turkey straddles two continents; meaning a wide range of influences, traditions and cultures. It offers a diverse number of holiday resorts, suiting all types of travellers tastes. The currency is Turkish Lira and the exchange rate is good against the pound. Not only is it cheap when you are in Turkey, we offer amazing deals on hotels and flights meaning your total holiday 2010 cost will be less than you thought.
Egypt The most up and coming holiday 2010 destination. Egypt excepts US dollars and Egyptian Pounds. It can be a fairly inexpensive holiday destination, for example buying souvenirs for all of your friends and family is cheap if you shop at bazaars. Another tip is haggling, it is expected in Egypt that you haggle, so make sure you never pay full price, as you may well be over-charged.
Tunisia Another up and coming popular holiday destination for 2010. The currency is Tunisian Dinar divided into 100 millimes. You can get lots for your money, from low cost eateries to notch restaurants, bustling bazaars to designer stores. We recommend Tunisia as a great bargain holidays destination for everyone.
Mexico A great holiday travel destination that is more affordable than you may think. On the Caribbean coast, it has beautiful white sanding beaches, fabulous food, great weather and a diverse nightlife. Mexico's currency is the Mexican Peso. All main towns and cities have institutions who will exchange your foreign notes and traveller's checks into Mexican pesos, or you can visit our travel money site and save money before you travel. You get a lot for your money in Mexico and we recommend it as one of the best, affordable Caribbean resort holiday destinations for 2010
